Privacy Policy

This privacy policy (Privacy Policy) forms part of, and should be read in conjunction with, the terms and conditions governing the use of the website, www.skeinforce.com, including the Building Information Modelling application on such site (the Website), each of which is maintained and operated by Skeingroup Pte. Ltd. (Skeingroup), and your relationship with Skeingroup and its related corporations. Terms defined in the terms of use found on the Website have the same meaning in this Privacy Policy unless otherwise stated.

Personal Data in this Privacy Policy means data of users who access or use the Website or any of the Website’s features (Users), which enables an individual to be identified. Users may either be “SkeinPros” or “Skeins”.

  1. General
    1. From time to time, Skeingroup may collect Personal Data from Users and their representatives (the Relevant Individuals) in order to facilitate the provision of services on, and the functionality of, the Website.
    2. Where Personal Data is provided as required by, pursuant to, or in connection with the use of the Website, the User represents and warrants to Skeingroup that
      (i) the Relevant Individual has been notified of the purposes for which data will be collected, processed, used or disclosed; and
      (ii) such individual’s consent for the collection, processing, use and disclosure of such Personal Data by Skeingroup has been obtained and authorised by such individual.
    3. Skeingroup must be promptly informed (by way of email to info@skeinforce.com, skein@skeinforce.com and skeinpro@skeinforce.com) upon becoming aware of the withdrawal by the Relevant Individual of his/her consent to the collection, processing, use and/or disclosure by Skeingroup of any Personal Data provided to Skeingroup. The withdrawal of such consent may affect the services which Skeingroup is able to provide to the User.
    4. The User shall ensure at all times that any Personal Data provided to Skeingroup is correct, accurate, updated and complete
    5. The User’s privacy preferences and privacy settings in relation to marketing functions of the Website can be turned off through that User’s account settings on the Website. However, it should be noted that disabling such tracking may affect the functionality of and/or the provision of services on the Website for that User.
  2. Use of Personal Data
    1. Skeingroup may collect, store, process, disclose, access, review and/or use Personal Data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (No. 6 of 2012 of Singapore), Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and in compliance with EU data protection law directive 95/46, Art 25 on ‘transferring personal data’ to data servers outside the EU, or any other written law.
    2. Without prejudice to the foregoing, Skeingroup may use Personal Data for any of its business purposes, including, without limitation, the following purposes:
      1. to operate and/or administer any account and/or offer the products and services available on the Website. These include:
        1. allowing Skeingroup to contact the User (directly or indirectly) in order to provide technical and commercial support;
        2. making contact or other details available to other Users;
        3. providing messages, invitations or notifications (such as surveys, event invitations or direct mailing) to Users in connection with the provision of services on the Website, whether through email, the Website dashboard or otherwise; or
        4. providing feedback and statistics to other selected Users in connection with services provided by Skeingroup from time to time;
      2. to verify the identity or authority of Relevant Individuals;
      3. to maintain or enhance the Website’s security procedures;
      4. to facilitate transactions on the Website;
      5. to carry out, monitor and analyse activity on the Website;
      6. for the marketing, promotion or advertisement of products and services to Users
        (including any co-branded products or services);
      7. in connection with services provided by Skeingroup to any User or on the Website;
      8. in connection with any sale, merger, or similar change of Skeingroup’s business;
      9. to comply with any applicable laws, rules, or regulations in any country; and
      10. to detect, prevent and investigate fraud.
    3. Skeingroup may also retain Personal Data for so long as it may deem necessary for the purposes of record retention and for its own business purposes in connection with the operation of the Website.
    4. Skeingroup allows the User to disable the tracking function in their account settings however, this would limit the User experience and / or affect the functionality and usage on the Website.
  3. Disclosure of Data
    1. Skeingroup may from time to time also disclose Personal Data to the following (whether inside or outside of Singapore) for the purposes listed above:
      1. any other User for the purposes of the products and/or services made available on the Website;
      2. any agent, contractor, or third-party services provider which provides operation, administrative or other services to Skeingroup in connection with Skeingroup’s business operations, the Website;
      3. to selected Users in connection with services provided by Skeingroup to any User from time to time on the Website;
      4. any person or entity employed by or on behalf of Skeingroup or is a part of or related to any group of companies of which Skeingroup forms a part; and
      5. any actual or proposed assignee of Skeingroup or transferee of Skeingroup’ rights in respect of all or any part of the assets or business of Skeingroup;
    2. Without limitation to the foregoing, Skeingroup may disclose Personal Data:
      1. to any person or entity to whom Skeingroup is under an obligation or otherwise required to make disclosure pursuant to any applicable laws, including disclosure to courts, tribunals, and/or legal, regulatory, tax and government authorities;
      2. of any SkeinPro (including its contact and/or other details) to Skeins registered on the Website; and
      3. of any Skein (including its contact or other details) to SkeinPros registered on the Website
  4. Emails, Notifications, etc.
    In order to maximise the functionality of the Website, Skeingroup may from time to time send Users email messages or short message service messages based on Personal Data provided. We do not guarantee that these messages will be completely secure. By the continued use of the Website and its features, or by registering as a User, the User consents to receiving such email, short messaging service messages (SMS) and IM messages (for Users that have switched on such functions). Under no circumstance will Skeingroup be liable to the Users in connection with or arising from any such email or such messages.
  5. Access and correction; amendments and updates
    1. Users who have registered their profile on the Website can amend their contact or other details (including, without limitation, profile photos, files and/or pictures) through the Website (as applicable).
    2. The User may also access or make corrections to their personal or other details (in the event that the User is unable to amend such details on the Website as per clause 5.1) and to their Personal Data held by Skeingroup. To do so, please contact us (by writing to us

      (iii) at skeinpro@skeinforce.com for SkeinPros).
    3. Skeingroup reserves the right to charge such costs or fees as it may, in its sole and absolute discretion, deem appropriate for the grant of such access to, and to correct, any Personal Data.
    4. This Privacy Policy may be amended and updated by Skeingroup from time to time. Any such amendment or update will be made available on the Website. All communications, transactions and dealings with Skeingroup will be subject to the latest version of this policy in force at the relevant time.
    5. This Privacy Policy does not derogate from any of Skeingroup’s terms and conditions. Skeingroup’s rights under this Privacy Policy shall be without prejudice to other rights of collection, use and disclosure available pursuant to the such terms and conditions or under the law and nothing herein is to be construed as limiting any of these other rights.
  6. Cross Border Transfers
    1. Skeingroup’s services are globally accessible by Users. Consequently, Skeingroup processes, stores (on servers and otherwise) shares and transfers your information (which may include Personal Data) to countries (Other Countries) outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland (Cross-Border transfers). Certain of these countries have not been given a Finding of Adequacy by the EU Commission. Other Countries may offer less legal protections regarding your information and/or your Personal Data than is offered within the EEA.
    2. When Users access and use the services and the Website, Personal Data may be accessible to other Users in Other Countries.
