Rosanna Bussolotto is an architect and designer and founder of Sartoria degli Spazi. Her approach consists of interpreting clients' specific needs and transforming them into original design ideas with a well-defined style. She uses appropriate tools and materials to coordinate all the operational phases, from project conception to realisation.
The project in question concerns the recovery of a consolidated urban fabric near the historical centre of Castellaneta. Sartoria degli Spazi is a creative concept combining architecture, design and engineering. It is a restoration, conservation and building renovation project involving three building bodies: a 19th century historical building with large vaulted spaces, a more recently built volume added without a design approach, and a 1960s storage room. The project aims to protect the heritage, use new building techniques, save energy and control natural resources.
The three blocks are arranged next to each other, creating a continuous façade that encourages connection between them and offers perspectives towards the outside space. During the day, light and a continuous water jet welcome visitors, while in the evening they create an atmospheric atmosphere that preserves the colours of the day. The sunshade walls offer light and shadow during the day, while the stretched nets create a fence on the street, creating a balance between what is visible and invisible.
Thanks to Rosanna Bussolotto's extensive project management experience, Sartoria degli Spazi becomes a reference point for local businesses, craftsmen, suppliers and specialised companies. It is transformed into a shared and flexible space that can host events and meetings.
Bussolotto says that his passion for architecture and interior design started during his university studies in architecture at the Politecnico di Bari. She began collaborating with design studios while still a student and started her professional activity in 2010. In her approach to new projects, the main focus is on responding to clients' needs and requirements. She tries to establish a dialogue with them, giving space to their ideas and visions of spaces.
With regard to the role of doors within a project, Bussolotto believes that they are important both from an aesthetic point of view, when the profiles and materials of the doors blend into the environment, and from a practical point of view, guaranteeing comfort and functionality. The choice of Ermetika products, in this case the Absolute Swing model, is motivated by the solutions that offer continuous walls without interruptions, allowing the doors to be perfectly integrated into the wall covering. In particular, the concealed hinges play an important role in ensuring that the doors are closed, hermetically sealed and quiet.
