HYDRANT TAP WITH ADJUSTABLE PRESSURE REDUCTION

BOCCIOLONE ANTINCENDIO continues in the perspective of design and development of new products, presenting the ADJUSTABLE PRESSURE REDUCING HYDRANT TUBE ART. 5/P that allows to vary and reduce the downstream pressure without any replacement of components, with a simple and quick intervention.

This new Hydrant Tap makes it possible to overcome important critical issues due to the construction of fire-fighting systems in vertically developed buildings, avoiding the installation of multiple pumping systems or products functional to water systems (such as pressure reducers), which are not optimized for fire-fighting systems that start from specific emergency logics. In fact, the fire-fighting system is considered as a permanently stand-by system that must intervene, when necessary, in an efficient manner with no possibility of defect in operation.

Since there is no specific technical reference standard, a lot of work has been done on the validation of the mathematical model in order to guarantee a reliable and quality product; the operating principle is based on the restriction of passage, which causes a lowering of the dynamic pressure downstream of the tap and therefore on everything connected to it, typically hose and lance.

The peculiarity is in the possibility of removing the preset passage restriction in a very short time during the use phase; this allows, due to any sudden need for more flow, to be able to release the stop mechanism with a simple gesture to increase the water passage section, enjoying all the pressure and therefore the flow rate that the system can offer.
