GCR Project Division: ventilated walls
GCR Project is the structure created by the Cerdisa Ricchetti Group to respond concretely to the operational needs of the architect, interior designer, builder, contract, and all the professional figures involved in the building design and construction process for specific ceramic tile applications, finding together the most suitable solutions for the project.
VENTILATED FACADES
A shell that encloses the building, whatever the type of supporting structure: a perfect combination of ceramics, an ancient and durable material, and the most innovative contemporary building technologies.
The ventilated façade is one of the technological systems linked to the concept of dry technology: it is generally defined as an opaque vertical closure system in which a blade of air interrupts the continuity of the layers.
It can be compared to a shell that encloses the building, whatever the type of load-bearing structure, bound to it but aesthetically independent.
Ceramic cladding is the most versatile product for the ventilated façade, thanks to its ability to adapt to various fixing systems at different cost and performance levels.
The use of ceramics in façades makes it possible to combine one of the oldest and most resistant materials with the most advanced building technologies.
Contemporary architecture is increasingly interested in heights and the creation of multi-material envelopes to define building façades. These envelopes consist of different surfaces that alternate, creating a modular and light design. The combination of metals, glass and ceramics creates a ventilated façade that ensures good ventilation of the building and greater energy efficiency.
The façade modules/frames are pre-assembled with ceramic cladding applied to prefabricated metal frames off site. The module can be applied by means of interlocking and/or mechanical fixings to the main structure of the building. The concept of dry fixing is combined with prefabrication to provide effective answers to contemporary design themes:
- great heights;
- quality control and production timing, through prefabrication in the factory;
- speed of installation on site;
- possibility of using different materials, colours and formats, organised in modular system frames.
